Kandis Z. Thorpe, LMSW, CSW

Licensed Social Worker

Kandis Z. Thorpe, LMSW, CSW (she/her) is a dedicated licensed master social worker and wellness advocate, committed to dismantling the stigma surrounding mental health.

 

Originally from Eastern North Carolina, she earned her Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University in New York City and her Bachelor of Science in Social Work from the Illustrious HBCU, Clark Atlanta University. Kandis is a proud member of the Greater Salt Lake City Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

 

Currently, Kandis serves as a clinical therapist and crisis counselor at the University of Utah Counseling Center. With extensive experience in the field of social work, she has provided therapy, crisis intervention, and community support to students and families,

while developing effective mental health programs aimed at suicide awareness.

 

Her previous work in family shelters and school social work involved leading psychotherapy groups for families experiencing housing insecurity and reducing chronic absenteeism in Black youth education. She currently resides in Salt Lake City, Utah.
