At I Can Do Caribbean Social Work (ICANDCSW), we are committed to equipping the next generation of leaders with the skills to address social injustices. While we often focus on the emotional and physical well-being of our communities, holistic healing also requires financial security. For many families in the Caribbean and beyond, economic stability is the foundation upon which sustainable growth is built. This is why we must view Fraud Detection and Prevention as a critical skill set for the modern social work professional.

Advocating for social justice means protecting those who are most vulnerable to exploitation. Here is how focusing on security enhances our humanitarian mission:

Protecting the Legacy of Our Elders In many Caribbean cultures, our seniors are the keepers of our history and rhythm. Unfortunately, they are also primary targets for financial exploitation. By integrating Fraud Detection and Prevention education into our community outreach, social workers can empower the elderly to recognize predatory scams. Protecting their life savings is not just about money; it’s about preserving their dignity and the legacy they intend to leave for future generations.
